Craig is our current Head Guide on St Brandon’s Atoll, a position he has held since September 2015.
His introduction to the sport occurred when he was four years old and a fly rod has been with him ever since. He fished extensively throughout his formative years, however things turned serious when he joined the competitive fly fishing circuit in 2008. He has represented his province for seven years, competing for his country during three of them. He fished two Youth World Fly-fishing Championships and he helped his team to bronze medal in Ireland.
Craig started working for FlyCastaway in 2013 as a guide on the Pongola River and Sterkfontien Dam. His maturity, high skill level and relaxed demenaour prompted a rise into one our highly coveted saltwater positions. At the tender age of 19 he did his initial saltwater season on Farquhar Atoll in Seychelles where he handled himself with distinction. After completing his first season, he was moved across to our St Brandon Atoll program where he has now spent the last three years. His deep knowledge of the atoll has allowed to him guide guests into thousands of Bonefish, including good numbers of double digit fish. His core passion currently is the atoll’s world famous Indo-Pacific Permit, his personal tally with guests currently sitting at 42 fish landed.
On top of Craig’s impressive Indian Ocean experience, he has been fortunate to have fished many other diverse waters throughout the rest of the world including venues such as Scotland, France, Bosnia, Lesotho, England, Ireland, Swaziland, Wales, Canada and the USA.
He is a passionate fly tier and when not on the water can be found behind his vice churning out beautifully tied fish catching imitations. Email: email@example.com
